Little Girl
She always liked to dress up
in tutus and pearls
ribbons and swirls
and play let's pretend
Always searching for attention
that Mama didn't give
Mama didn't have any left
She had to pay rent
Her time was all spent
on the flavor of the month
Some rotten guy she'd find to date
and pay for wanted things
So little girl left
Big and grown in her fourteen
times around the sun
Girl wanting to have fun
She went out to make her way
and find some of that attention
that Mama didn't give
Things weren't as easy as that
There's nowhere to go
no way to make dough
when little girls are fourteen
Until some rotten guy found her
wanting to pay for things
So little girl changed
Yeah, she still likes to dress up
in flamboyant clothes
from head to toes
and play let's pretend
Always searching for attention
that Mama didn't give
Likes to pretend she is hard
has a heart of steel
and she doesn't feel
her stained glass heart as it breaks
She turns those tricks to make the coin
to pay for wanted things
So little girl cries
