When it was released in the United States it shot to be number one in May of 1987. I guess it earned so much recognition it came into contact with Smitty & T-pain as they made a remix to this song. But they weren't the only ones to remake this song or make a remix to it, other artist did also. But all the new remixes the lyrics became filled with sex,drugs and money.
