I love "Ready, Set, Comment!"--a very catchy phrase. And we did indeed begin class today focusing on the rhetorical gesture of "the comment."However, we also recognized the value of commenting, in terms of our writing process, is the basic fact that comments do not say much, and therefore create a pragmatic need for more sentences.
So, in these assignments, we will do more than comment. Each response should be at least three paragraphs long.

What if you already commented them before hand and they are not three paragraphs long? Can we wait till more people to comment so that we have more to comment on? Let me know Shareriff

copy and paste your comment into the text of the page and type more. No need to wait for text to manifest on any particular page--if you are inspired by ideas and writing elsewhere (for example, Javier's writing http://fall2010compositions.pbworks.com/Civic-Engagement-Fair-%28Javier%29), you can elaborate on those ideas and texts and fold them into our discussions on "journeying" and civic engagement.
