Living Democracies.

To begin, you should speak about what living democracies are.

To fight globalization, Shiva believes that we must move towards localization. Localization is the idea that we should build our economies from smaller communities on up(up where?). She uses a tree as a visualization: the roots of the tree represent our local economies, which come together at the trunk (representing a national economy), and then the branches represent international trade(Give your reader a visual of a tree with the roots and what not.). She believes if we support our local communities, import goods only when neccessary, and have absolute control over the democracy in our local communities then we will build a stronger nation from the ground up.

Comments: I'm quite confused. I see that "think globally, act locally" is present in your essay as well. Supporting our local communities are good, but what does that include? Does it include just items that would be imported and use the ones that are locally grown? This is quite hard to do when our nation started from what other people brought over. I honestly don't think it's possible to act locally without considering everything that supports our country around the world. We actually can't have absolute control over the democracy in our local communities. It won't work. Not here. Not anywhere. There are too many views and opinions. Since this is the way you would like to go, give us an example of how you can incorporate local to get everything global.
