The moment I heard those

two tiny syllables that

change the world

that epic sentence

that beautiful "I do"

my soul touched a piece of

forever

I felt the restful rejoice

of searching no more

 I thought that love

would fall into the

comfortable lull

of constancy

only to swell to that

ecclesiastical moment

in precious memory

I didn't know that it could

happen again

with forever already

in my pocket

Until I heard those two

beautiful words

once more

this time

in a courtroom

instead of a church

as the man I love

promised to love

my child forever

promised to be his father

gave him his name

and gave him

that restful rejoice

of searching no more
