Abandoment of children can come in multiple forms. There could be a family that shows no emotion or shows no love to a child and leaves them emotional abandoment. Children need a family and a role model to be an influence in their lives. Without guidance, love and care children aren't going to grow up and become upstanding citizens in our country. Picture if you were left alone at the young age of 10 years old and left to get your own food, build a house to sleep at night and defend yourself from others that live on the street. The chances are that this kid would not make it and if he/she did then they would have the habit of stealing, lying and maybe even killing for food. I feel that if parents are having a child they should be ready to accept the fact that they will have to focus on the kid and put everything else to the side. They need to be ready to put the time in on the baby girl or baby boy rather than leave them and go to a club. This subject is something that needs to get money to help create houses and shelters for children to go to so that they can learn and eat and have somebdy to discipline them so that they can have some direction in their lives. This is an issue that affects me greatly because I have seen first hand the ways that emotional abandoment has destroyed a child mentally and emotionally. Leaving that child unstable when it comes to emotions and will not be able to live a completly normal life because they're scared to love or they have that built up anger toward others. I have researched and found out information about some of the centers and shelters that children can go to for couseling or to shelters to live and get an education and have a place to sleep. (You start of with mentioning that there are multiple ways of abandoning a child, but you only speak on one. If this is the case, you should say something like "there are multiple forms, but emotional abandonment is the most devastating, in my opinion. Also, provide links to the organizations listed at the top. Explain why children need a family and role model...maybe discuss how a family is the most influential aspect of a childs life (with growing up and being influenced). Also, you talk about discipline. Go into that, inform the readers why all discipline isn't bad and how using it wisely helps children grow into stable and functioning member of society. If you feel like sharing, even go into your experience with childhood emotional abandonment, and how it affected you, and how you cope with it. This can have a HUGE appeal to the readers.  Some of the sentences are run on, but that is easily fixed. Overall, great subject to discuss.) - Andrea

I like how you have already done your research and conducted three different organizations who are in need of our help on this particular topic. I like the ethos you used by putting the audience in a position of abandonment. It grabs the emotions out of the reader and draws them into your cause you are trying to promote. This is a great start Jose, but needs a lot more, as I'm sure you may know. These ideas that you have mentioned in this first paragraph need to be detailed and expanded throughout your essay. I know you can expand more on this topic to really explore the topic of child abandonment! I will be glad to give you more feedback when you have written more. - Sheena
