Filesharing sure has come a long way since Napster.  Lately, we seem to have moved from file sharing to consciousness sharing. YouTube and other sites facilitate a collective "stream of consciousness" that perhaps not even William James himself could have anticipated. No doubt it easy as pie to share links, including YouTube clips. So easy, in fact, that we use our attention as a filter as much as anything else. The amplification of sharing ideas, concepts, moods, and feelings via mere "showing" begs for more description and explanation, and creates a pragmatic need for sentencing, lest we reduce the potential of dialogue to mere shouting and pointing in this attention economy.

For this assignment, you will partner with a peer and dialogue on chat or wiki about the questions, topics, and problems you find most exigent in the realm of our theme and topic. Find and share at least one YouTube clip in your dialogue. Query these moving images: ask your interloquitor to elaborate on the clip. Then, using CaptionTube, and developing the ideas that emerge in your dialogue, annotate one YouTube clip for a specific audience's needs.
