     I've never wrote a wikiblog before, I never really knew there was the wikiblogs you could link and write a blog until Ehle showed me this morning. I'm starting to understand how to use the wiki a little better than the first time I used it in ENC 1102. I still get confused sometimes how to link things on pages or what assignment we have to do, but I always find a way to figure it out or ask someone for help.

Beginning of ENC 1102...

     When this course first began I was not a fan of the Wiki, but now I seem to understand it. I like how easy it is to use, edit other peoples work, and communicate with your classmates. I remember our first assignment on the Wiki was to make a page about yourself, and on that page you needed to make a song about you, use some type of  visual aid, and to write about The Happenings. Here is my first page ever made on The Wiki: Jenna's Page :). On my page, there is a rap that describes me and my first time giving and recieving feedback on the wiki. The first essay that I wrote about in this course was about leadership.

     The first essay that we wrote in ENC 1102 was about what makes a good leader. I gave examples from an author of a book on ways to be an effective leader by following seven charateristics that makes up a good leader. In my essay, I described all the different charatersitcis that make up a good leader. I also gave examples of famous leaders that followed some of these charateristics. I also explained the Bass' Transformational Leadership Theory, and how it describes what a good leader is. I liked this essay that I wrote, and I am considering about using it for my English showcase that is coming up at the end of this term.

Writing to Explore Blogs...

     When we started using the Wiki I had gotten behind, writing the blogs, knowing when everything was due, and what in fact was due. In this course, I have learned so far information about writing to inform. I wrote a seperate blog: Writing to Inform, Jenna. For my writing to inform, I choose to write more blogs about sex trafficking, Ways To Prevent Sex Trafficking Blog, my groupmates and I gathered information together about sex trafficking. We worked together to give people information about the subject, ways to prevent sex trafficking, and we used visual aids to help the audience gain more attention. I also gave my groupmates a blog, Sex Trafficking Blog, with information about the victims that sex trafficking is happening to.

Writing to Evaluate Blogs...

     My classmates and I had finished up our writing to evaluate last week. We all worked together in three different groups and looked at NOFO templates. The groups were assigned to determine what NOFO that they felt were the best. I was apart of group 3, and we choose a NOFO that we all agreed on and liked, we wrote our blog Group 3 NOFO evaluationswhich describes more in depth about our views on the NOFO.

     The other assignment that we were assigned was to come up with your own personal NOFO template. In the beginning of the assignment I was really confused in what we were suppose to be doing. For example, when we had to write our problem statement I didn't quit do that first. I thought we needed to find a non- profit organization that we liked and being to write and do research about it. After doing that I had made a page on the Wiki, and with the help of my classmates they told me that I needed to write my problem statement and not necessarily limit myself to one specific non-profit organization. With all that said and done, I was able to make my personal NOFO template, Jenna's Personal NOFO Template. My NOFO template talks about finding an organization that will give aid to people suffering for mental problems, homeless people, or troubled children. I enjoyed working in unit 3 because I felt more involved in the class, and on the wiki. My top three NOFO's:

• Ehle's personal NOFO template: I liked Ehle's NOFO because she had a lot of creditable research. I like her idea of using the grant to have recieve help to women who are victims of domestic violence,and to help domestic violence from happening in the first place.
•  Andrea's Personal NOFO template: Andrea's NOFO is dealing with the situation of anmial cruelty.I like her purpose of what she wants the money to go to, helping stray animals have a home. 
•  Javier's personal NOFO Template: I like Javiers NOFO too because my NOFO was very similar to his. He wants to find an organization that helps the homeless and the mentally troubled. I also liked the idea of the centeral kitchens to help the homeless people or any other person that is in need.  

Writing to Convince Blogs... 

     Now, in ENC 1102 we are being to work on our writing to convince essays. I haven't started my portfolio yet, but I plan on working on it tonight. I have had a hard time figuring out what exctally I want to write about. Writing to convince someone is typically essay as long as you are passionate about what you are trying to convince, which is why I am having such a hard time thinking about a good topic. I have done some research to help me find a topic, but nothing has really caught my attention. I am going to continue looking up topics, and hopefully I will find something I will enjoy writing about. With that said, I'm going to begin making my unit 4 portfolio.

     Yesterday, Amber and I spent about three hours at Panera working on the Wiki. This is where I figured out what my topic for my writing to convince to be about child development. I am going to convince that a child needs a well structed family to live a healthy and normal childhood and adult life. I began research, and found myself very intrested in researching about this subject. After, I finish the rest of my research tonight I am going to being my rough draft.

     Today I finished some research for my essay. I started to work on my rough draft on my writing to convince essay. I think I'm almost done. I have the conclusion paragraph, and i think two more pargraphs from my research. Tomorrow before I leave to go back home for the weekend, I plan to have my rough draft completely finished, and be giving and reciving feedback. After, my feedback I will revise my work to make my final draft. I also need to start making my showcase. I have decided to make my showcase on this piece of writing because I feel that I've done my best work on this essay because I was very interested in this topic. 

     So, I have been working on the Wiki for a couple hours today, trying to finish my final portfolio and my writing to convince unit portfolio. This week has been pretty stressful due to the fact that it's our last week of classes, and there is still so much work that needs to be done to prepare myself for exam week. I'm very worried about my ARH class, and Geography class because I can study for so long and when the test comes I do poorly on it. Hopefully this time around I won't let my nervous get to me. While I'm going to work more on the Wiki and eventually study.

Showcase Blogs...

     Today in class, we went over the English showcase. I brought in my showcase from ENC 1101 to show my classmates an idea of what a visual aid of your essay is. We than went over the different types of project you can use for your showcase, I choose to do a taple top project again. I think I'm going to use a trifold again. I liked using it for my English showcase over the summer. My classmates gave me some feedback that I could try to use that would help me do my showcase better, it was very helpful.
